Fresh off its SHOT Show debut a few months back, STI has officially announced the release of its STI H.O.S.T. (Holographic Optic Slide Top) pistol for shooters using optics and/or suppressors.

According to the press release, the STI H.O.S.T. pistol features tall tritium fixed suppressor sights designed to co-witness with mounted optics. Conveniently, this lets shooters see both the target and sights over the suppressor. Meanwhile, the top of the slide is milled out to accept a red-dot optic. The H.O.S.T. pistol comes with a cover plate and adaptor plates for Leupold Delta Point, Vortex Viper and Trijicon RMR sights.
Available in both 1911 and 2011 models, the H.O.S.T. pistol comes with either a 5-inch or 4.15-inch barrel. Both barrel variants have a small classic cut to allow the shooter to install a suppressor without needing an extended adaptor. The advantage of this is that the gun has a long dust cover with a shorter overall length. Chambered for 9mm, .45 or 10mm (5.0 only) and featuring a black DLC coating to withstand harsh use, the STI H.O.S.T. pistol will accommodate your optics and suppressors with ease.

The 1911 model retails for $2,599, while the MSRP for the 2011 variant is $3,199.
