The CT380 from Kahr Arms is not the smallest .380 ACP pocket pistol you can find, but it weighs less than 12 ounces and may be the best all-around pistol in this category. The CT380 is as razor thin as you can get in a self-defense pocket pistol with legendary Kahr quality. The slightly longer 3-inch, 416 stainless steel barrel and slide provide greater velocity and muzzle energy for the .380 ACP cartridge and a longer sight radius for improved accuracy. You also get actual sights with an easy-to-acquire white-dot front sight and post rear sight.

The CT380’s smooth, striker-fired action makes it easy to stay on target, and the polymer frame features aggressive front and rear checkering. The pistol holds 7+1 rounds, and this also makes the grip just long enough to get a much firmer grip than on smaller pocket pistols while still keeping the CT380 small enough to fit in most jean pockets. You also get a true and fully functional slide lock/release and a spare magazine. The magazine release is a bit on the smallish side, but it works well and magazines dropped freely during testing.

I recently got my hands on the CT380 Tungsten, which comes with a tungsten Cerakote finish on the slide. This is both visually appealing and provides excellent corrosion protection, an added benefit for a concealed-carry gun that rides close to the body.
