Made of AAA-grade walnut, the traditional lines of the SuperAmerica rifle matched with the highly polished blue barrel make this gun as much of an art piece as it is a tack driver. The stock has a hand-rubbed oil finish, 24-lines-per-inch checkering, a steel grip cap and an ebony forend to enhance its aesthetics. The match-grade components and adjustable trigger allow you to put rounds exactly where you want them to go.
Chambered in a wide range of calibers, the Montana is Kimber’s workhorse mountain rifle. It has a Kevlar-reinforced carbon-fiber stock with pillar and glass bedding. A Mauser claw extractor offers controlled feeding, while the match-grade chamber and barrel help keep Kimber’s sub-MOA accuracy promise. Weight varies with the caliber, but Kimber worked hard to keep the Montana rifle light while maintaining its ruggedness.
Lightweight and durable, the Mountain Ascent is a true mountain rifle with a carbon-fiber stock and a stainless steel barrel and action. The stock on this rifle has an Optifade Open Country finish, and scope rings with a matching finish are also available. The 24- to 26-inch barrel is threaded and comes with both a muzzle brake and a thread protector. The bolt and bolt handle are both fluted, and the bolt knob is hollow.
Ideally suited for close-range hunting, the Adirondack is the lightest rifle offered by Kimber at only 4.8 pounds. The 16- to 18-inch, match-grade barrel is threaded for the addition of a muzzle brake or sound suppressor where legal for hunting. A Pachmayr Decelerator buttpad comes standard on the Kevlar-reinforced, carbon-fiber stock to help absorb some of the recoil. The match-grade trigger has a pull weight set to break at 3.5 to 4 pounds.
The Kimber Caprivi gives the hunter a traditional look while incorporating modern gun design techniques. The AA-grade French walnut stock is bedded on aluminum pillar and has twin cross-bolts for reinforcement. The full-length Mauser claw extractor gives the shooter true controlled-round feeding. Any unintentional magazine floorplate opening is prevented through the placement of the release inside the triggerguard of the sculpted steel bottom.
With a carbon-fiber stock and a satin stainless steel finish, the Talkeetna is a dangerous-game rifle that can be relied on in the field in all weather conditions. The rifle is chambered for the .375 H&H Magnum cartridge and uses the same full-length Mauser claw extractor that is used in the Caprivi. A single leaf express sight offers fast target acquisition.
Built for the walking varmint hunter, the ProVarmint’s action is designed to minimal dimensions to reduce bolt travel and weight, while the large bolt handle helps the hunter cycle the action quickly. The fluted barrel improves cooling while also trimming down the gun’s overall weight. Both the chamber and barrel are match-grade, as is the adjustable trigger. The action and barrel both feature an attractive satin stainless finish.
With the A-grade walnut stock, the LongMaster Classic looks as good as it shoots. A match-grade trigger combines with the 24-inch, heavy sporter barrel, a match-grade chamber, glass bedding and a Mauser claw extractor to provide an extremely reliable, accurate rifle. With sub-MOA accuracy, the LongMaster VT is ideal for taking prairie dogs and other varmints at long distances. The 26-inch, stainless steel barrel is fluted to improve cooling and reduce weight for a long day of shooting. Both the chamber and barrel are match-grade, and the rifle is available in .22-250 Rem. The gray laminated stock has a front swivel stud for a bipod and a 0.5-inch-thick recoil pad.
Optimized for accuracy and speed, the SVT, or Short Varmint Target rifle, is perfectly suited for clearing a field of prairie dogs. The 18-inch, bull barrel, chamber and action are all built to exacting dimensions to ensure top accuracy and eliminate unnecessary weight. From the factory, the adjustable trigger is set to break at 3 to 3.5 pounds. Although extremely functional, the gun is also a beauty with a hand-rubbed, oil-finished gray laminate stock.
Designed for law enforcement and military applications, the Light Police Tactical, or LPT, is chambered for the popular .223 and .308 cartridges. Kimber built these rifles with a traditional rifle stock made of black epoxy-finished, laminated wood. The rifle’s 22-inch, fluted, bull barrel is made to match-grade dimensions. The bolt action uses a full-length Mauser claw extractor and the bolt handle has an oversized knob for ease of use in all field conditions.
Kimber offers superior accuracy in a production rifle with the Patrol Tactical. Designed to be a professional-grade bolt-action rifle, the gun has a match-grade, fluted barrel with a target crown and match-grade chamber. The stock has a stippled grip and the bolt handle has an oversized knob for smooth operation with or without gloves. A Picatinny base allows for the quick addition of a high-power optic to help ensure rounds on target.
Hand-built by the Kimber Custom Shop, the Advanced Tactical II is required to shoot a 0.5-inch group prior to shipping. Part of the accuracy comes from the rufle’s air-gauged, stainless steel, bull barrel. A SureFire muzzle brake tops the barrel and makes adding a sound suppressor quick and easy. The stock is adjustable for both length of pull and cheek height. It also folds to the side for compact storage and transportation.
Precision shooting from a suppressor-ready, compact rifle is what the Advanced Tactical SRC delivers. The match-grade barrel has a SureFire muzzle brake that serves as a quick-attach receptacle for SureFire sound suppressors, giving meaning to the SRC name: Suppressor Ready Compact. The rifle uses an aluminum chassis with a completely adjustable side-folding stock, rear monopod, KeyMod attachment points and a 12 o’clock Picatinny rail. Rounding out the package, Kimber ships the rifle in a waterproof hard case.
SOC stands for “Special Operations Capable,” and Kimber has made this gun live up to its name. The rifle uses the same modular chassis as the Advanced Tactical SRC, and that gives this gun a high degree of flexibility for any operation. A full-length Mauser claw extractor provides true controlled feeding, and the barrel and chamber are machined to match-grade dimensions for extreme accuracy. Detachable five-round magazines are standard while 10-round mags are also available.
A company perhaps best known by many shooters for its 1911 pistols also makes some of the best sporting rifles on the market today.
