The following is a press release from Hogue
Hogue Inc, America’s premier manufacturer of firearm grips, rifle stocks, AR components, knives, holsters and gear is pleased to announce the addition of three new automatic knives to its popular line of American-made manual folding knives. The new autos are spring-loaded versions of Hogue’s EX-01, EX-03 and EX-04 Tactical Folding Knives, all of which feature a robust button lock and a 3.5” 154 CM hardened steel blade. “This is a big step for Hogue Knives,” said Hogue managing partner Jim Bruhns. “We worked hard to create an incredibly reliable auto knife based on our button lock knife platform. We’re proud to offer these superior cutting tools to our customers.”

The key to the Hogue® auto knife’s reliability and performance, explained Bruhns, is its proprietary music wire spring, developed specifically for Hogue Knives by famed spring maker Wolff Gunsprings. “It took four months to nail it,” Bruhns explained, “but now that we’ve dialed in the specs we’re delivering an automatic knife that will last for years.” Hogue conducted extensive reliability tests for the new auto knives including cycle tests in excess of 10,000 blade deployments for each auto knife design. “Fast blade deployment, a rock-solid lockup, precision engineering and extreme reliability under all conditions are hallmarks of the Hogue auto knife,” said Bruhns.
