American Gunsmithing Institute (AGI) — producers of a series of renowned instructional gunsmithing DVD courses — has introduced their new DVD-based Certified 1911 Pistolsmith Course.
According to the press release, the Certified 1911 Pistolsmith Course includes Building the Ultimate 1911 Vol. 1-3, The Complete Disassembly & Reassembly DVD, the 1911 Armorer’s Course DVD, the course on Advanced Troubleshooting the 1911 and special bonus footage of a recorded live classroom session with Master Gunsmith Gene Shuey. In this footage, Shuey demonstrates how to perform a 1911 trigger job.
The Certified 1911 Pistolsmith Course includes over 27 hours of video instruction which has been remastered with new content. It also comes with a detailed workbook with professional notes on the 1911 for reference. Simply put, this course is a must-have for those who own a 1911 or consider themselves a student of this pistol. It includes online test access, a Certified 1911 Pistolsmith Certificate (upon successful completion of the online test) and the AGI Certified 1911 Pistolsmith Patch at a price less than travel, expenses and enrollment in one certification course.
As the press release notes, the 1911 is primarily used as a personal defense weapon or for building the latest IPSC competition pistol or hi-capacity, compensated “race gun.” Most people don’t understand how it actually works and are unable to customize it while still having it work reliably. This is why AGI developed the new course.
The manufacturer suggested retail price is $1,297 plus shipping and handling.
