Georgia-based firearms, rail systems and accessories manufacturer Daniel Defense has announced the release of the MK18 Pistol and the 300 Blackout Pistol, developed in response to increased customer demand as a result of a recent ATF ruling which makes it easier to possess an AR pistol and extends approval times for NFA tax stamps.
According to the press release, the MK18 is chambered in 5.56 NATO and boasts a 10.3″ cold hammer forged barrel that is classified as an SBR under the National Firearms Act. It is similar to the MK18 Factory SBR which is popular in the law enforcement and special operations communities. Meanwhile, the 300 Blackout Pistol, chambered in 300 AAC Blackout, also comes with a 10.3″ barrel. It is designed for close quarters and home defense. Each of these pistols is designed with a 1.15″ Diameter Pistol Receiver Extension opposed to a Mil-Spec receiver extension and buttstock, and are not NFA-regulated items.
