European America Armory’s 2-inch, polished blue Windicator revolver offers very good value. The all-steel model costs only $319 and holds six shots of .38 Spl. or .357 Magnum ammunition. The Windicator has a recoil-absorbing rubber grip, a hammer block safety and large fixed sights that have a non-glare sighting plane. The trigger pull is somewhat heavy at 6 pounds single action and 14.5 pounds double action, but trigger travel is smooth, and the SA break is very clean.
The Windicator shoots as good as it looks. Five-shot groups fired with five different magnum loads at 15 yards ranged between 2.74 and 3.83 inches. The fastest load was Remington’s 125-grain SJHP, which flew through the Windicator’s 2-inch barrel at 1,306 feet per second and delivered 473 foot pounds of muzzle energy. A full evaluation will appear in a future issue of Combat Handguns, so keep an eye out!
