Vudoo Gun Works just announced the latest addition to the company’s 1911 line of pistols. The Vudoo Priest brings a high-end, double-stack 1911 pistol design for competition or even home defense use.
Vudoo Priest Double-Stack 1911
The Priest follows up on the previous Mobius pistol. The new pistol integrates the precise, reliable slide and barrel fit from the Mobius to the familiar functionality of a modern double-stack 1911, according to Vudoo. The resulting platform comes with an option for a contour-matching optic cut for either RMR or DDP. The Priest comes chambered in 9mm, with additional calibers planned for summer 2023.
The Priest’s frame features Nitride-teated 4140 steel with Cerakote colors provided by customer request. The 17-4 stainless steel slide ships left in the raw or finished in a Cerakote color of the shooter’s choice. The 5-inch model comes compete with Tac Rail dust cover, Vudoo textured aluminum grips, an ambidextrous safety and flared magazine well.
The semi-custom build puts several choices in the customer’s hands. Aside from Cerakote finishes, options include trigger length and contour, along with bushing or bull barrel. STI/SV-family magazines (17, 19 or 23 rounds) are available; the pistol ships with two, 17-round magazines.
The Vudoo Priest retails for $3,095. For even more info, please visit vudoogunworks.com.

Editor’s Note:
The double-stack 9mm pistol, in several different forms, just keeps on gaining in popularity. Since the inception of the Browning Hi-Power way back when, the concept continually checks many boxes for defense or sport. But recently, we’re getting a real influx of double-stack 1911/2011 designs. The 2011 once fell strictly into the category of custom, high-end competition builds. But then Staccato started making folks see the full potential with builds like the Staccato CS. And then Springfield Armory really moved the needle with the release of the Prodigy. This trend shows no slowing down in the near future. So look for more interesting new builds like the Vudoo Priest.
