With the price of ammo today—if you can even find any—it is nice to be able to save money somewhere. Although, it’s a little strange that the firearm is the part of the equation taking it easy on our pocketbooks. But in times such as these, options like the American Tactical FXS-9 provide a cost savings, where ammunition doesn’t. And it does it without compromising quality.
The American Tactical FXS-9
The FXS-9 starts with a high strength polymer frame with polished black finish and interchangeable backstrap. Riding atop the frame is a steel slide with forward and rear serrations for easy manipulation. Correspondingly, resting within the slide is a 4.1-inch barrel, while click adjustable sights sit on the top. Just forward of the grooved trigger guard is a three-slot picatinny rail, for additional light/optic options.
Although every firearm should be treated as if it is loaded, the FXS-9 includes a loaded chamber indicator. Likewise, a striker status indicator lets you know that the pistol is ready to fire. If you are not ready to fire, a firing pin safety additionally ensures safe carry.
With an overall length of 7.45-inches and height of 5.6-inches, the FXS-9 fits comfortably on your hip for EDC concealed carry. In addition, the 26.5 ounces (unloaded) will not place an undo burden on your waistline.
Finally, chambered in 9mm, the striker fire FXS-9 comes with either a 10- or 17-round magazine. Furthermore, ensuring right- or left-hand operation is an ambidextrous magazine release.
