The conversion kits include a barrel, bolt head and magazine. It enables hunters to easily convert their large-caliber, centerfire R8 into a rimfire to hunt small game or even practice. “There are millions of possible combinations in the Blaser R8 platform and the versatility is extraordinary,” said Jason Evans, CEO, Blaser Group. “R8 owners can hunt varmint and dangerous game with the same rifle which can be quickly converted from a .17 HMR to large centerfire calibers such as .375 or .458. Those who hunt multiple species at home and abroad will appreciate the ease with which they can adapt calibers to their needs with conversion kits, in the case of rimfire, or extra barrels and bolt heads in centerfire calibers. And when target shooting, you have the advantage of practicing with lower recoiling calibers with the same gun and trigger pull.”

The Rimfire Conversion Kits retail for $1,714. For more info, visit blaser-usa.com.

Already available in other calibers, from .204 Ruger to .500 Jeffrey, the Blaser R8 modular rifle is now available in the popular 6.5 PRC. The 6.5 PRC is essentially a magnum version of the 6.5 Creedmoor with a flatter trajectory and higher impact velocity. The 6.5 PRC cartridge is a favorite with long-range hunters for its accuracy and long-range performance.

The R8 Modular Rifle

The straight-pull R8 bolt-action rifle is available in multiple configurations, allowing hunters to custom fit it to their needs. The R8 is available with multiple stock options, a recoil reduction system, adjustable comb, adjustable length of pull, and numerous barrels and bolt heads to quickly change calibers.

“If you combine all the different standard options on an R8, you can build over 47 million unique rifles and that does not even include custom shop options,” said Jason Evans, CEO, Blaser Group. “The interchangeability makes it incredibly easy to convert your rifle from one caliber to another by simply switching out the barrel and bolt head. This can be done in less than a minute. The engineering and craftsmanship is so extraordinary, after any barrel change, the rifle will shoot to within 1/2 MOA every time.”

Because of the modularity and overall compact length, the R8 modular rifle offers distinct advantages to hunters who travel frequently. The R8 allows them to carry one rifle and multiple barrels, as opposed to multiple full rifles.

The one-piece Saddle Mount system provides easy and precise mounting of your scope by allowing the base to fit into notches on top of the free-floating barrel. The mounting system mates with the barrel, allowing repeatability after scope zero. The Saddle Mount ensures scope zero, regardless of the number of times removed.

To ensure 360-degree engagement, the R8 modular rifle features concentric locking lugs with 14 locking surfaces. As a result, the locking lugs, in concert with the locking surfaces, provide enhanced accuracy. With a focus on safety the R8 features a manual cocking mechanism, providing one of the safest actions available.
