Mossberg Debuts Reserve Series Field & Sporting Over-Under Shotguns

Mossberg made big news this week, launching two new over-under shotgun lines. The Mossberg International Silver Reserve Field and Gold Reserve Sporting Series offer variants in .410 bore through 12 gauge.

Mossberg Reserve Series Over-Under Shotguns

The extensive new lines deliver seemingly every conceivable model for both hunting and sporting clays. The well-appointed break-action shotguns even include a 20-gauge youth model. Gold Series shotguns come in 12 and 20 gauge and .410 bore. Each features chrome-lined bores and chambers, along with dual-locking lugs.

Silver Reserve Field Series

The Silver Reserve stand out for their affordability. Each features a black walnut stock with a satin finish. The handsome cut-checkering on the grip matches the forend, and the stock exhibit 14-inch length-of-pull. Matte blue-finished, vent rib barrels provide the heart of the system.

Other standard features include shell extractors and a bead front sight. Five flush choke tubes come with field models. A familiar tang-mounted safety and barrel selector comes standard. A satin-finished receiver, complete with Mossberg log, rounds out the package.

An optional 12-gauge version comes with a durable black synthetic stock. It includes 28-inch barrels and a fiber-optic front sight. Younger shooters or smaller adults can opt for the 20-gauge Field Youth, sporting a 13.25-inch LOP.

Gold Reserve Sporting Series

Gold Reserve models feature five extended chokes and more well-appointed design.

The Gold Reserve Sporting Series raises the bar, with shotguns designed for performance. Hand-selected black walnut stocks, cut checkering and polished blue barrel finishes catch the eye. Meanwhile, the competition-ready guns come complete with 28- or 30-inch vent rib barrels. Each includes shell ejectors, a front bead sight and extended, checkered Sport Set choke tubes.

Each gun exhibits a polished silver receiver with decorative accents. Jeweled actions, rich scroll engraving and 24-karat gold inlay give a high-end appearance.

The Gold Reserve Black Label sports a 30-inch polished-blue barrel. The Gold Reserve Super Sport comes with an adjustable stock for cast, comb height and LOP. The shotguns retail for $983 and $1,221, respectively.
