SIG TAGNO6T Named US Defense Department Direct View Optic

SIG Sauer recently announced the U.S. Department of Defense selected the company’s TANGO6T as its Direct View Optic (DVO). The award stems from a solicitation to enhance squad performance via a variable-power scope. The 1-6X SIG TANGO6T works for close-quarter and extended-range targets.

DOD Picks SIG TANGO6T Riflescope

The award marks the third Defense Department contract for the TANGO6T. In January, we reported USSOCOM chose the optic as its Squad-Variable Powered Scope (S-VPS). The U.S. Army also selected the scope for its Squad Designated Marksman Rifle.

“After rigorous and stringent testing, where the best of the industry competed, we are proud to confirm the SIG SAUER TANGO6T riflescope has been selected by the U.S. Army as the Direct View Optic,” began Ron Cohen, President, and CEO, SIG SAUER, Inc. “This is a three-peat for the TANGO6T as the riflescope continues to prove it will withstand the rigors of U.S. military testing making it the choice for use with our soldiers. The further proliferation of the riflescope into the U.S. Military’s M4A1 operating system is an exciting achievement for SIG SAUER Electro-Optics and further proof that the TANGO6T is the direction of the future.”

The military will use the TANGO6T 1-6×24 DVO on M4A1 carbines. It features a first focal plane and a Flat Dark Earth anodized finish. The DWLR6 reticle provides range estimation and wind holds at extreme distances. Meanwhile, the advanced HELLFIRE illumination system delivers fast target acquisition.

Built With Options

The SIG TANGO6T comes in both first and second focal plane commercially. It features both 5.56 and 7.62 Horseshoe Dot, HELLFIRE MOA Milling, HELLFIRE FL-6 or the new DWLR6. For more information, visit sigsauer.com.
