The Gen II does that and more, delivering four different night-vision modes. The optic includes a dedicated night-vision button as well. The Gen II utilizes an EBR-CQB reticle, and the unit recalls the last daylight setting for fast transitions.
The Gen II also comes with an even larger viewing window. Meanwhile, a toolless battery cover makes changing out the battery much faster.
The unit retains the Gen I reticle, along with its FHQ technology to eliminate stray light emissions. An integrated quick-disconnect mount provides easy on and off mounting, according to Vortex.
Both law enforcement and military units depend on their ability to own the night. However, even civilians can find multiple applications for the new Vortex system. For home defense, you can’t beat the ability to see across your back 40. But even nighttime hog hunters will benefit from such a versatile platform.
The newer, updated, lighter unit, compete with night vision, retails for $799.99. For more information, visit vortexoptics.com.
