Helix 6 makes all of its precision barrels in the U.S. Each Ruger Precision Rifle barrel utilizes a match-grade 416R stainless steel core. Its wrapped using the company’s proprietary carbon fiber layup. The design dampens barrel harmonics for greater accuracy, according to Helix 6. Meanwhile, button rifling and hand lapping each barrel improves accuracy and minimizes fouling.

Helix 6 manufacturers carbon fiber barrels to meet the highest demand in accuracy and performance for the Ruger Precision Rifle. Barrel offerings include three popular long-range calibers, including 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Win.

The 6mm and 6.5 Creedmoor feature a 24-inch barrel with a fast 1:8 twist to stabilize high BC bullets. The .090-inch diameter straight bull contour weighs only 2 pounds, 12 ounces on the 6mm, and one ounce lighter on the 6.5 Creedmoor. The .308 Win. barrel features a 1:10 twist for optimum long-range performance. Each barrel utilizes 5/8-24 threads for installation of an aftermarket muzzle brake or suppressor. And each barrel comes threaded to fit the Ruger action threads as well.

Installation of the Helix 6 Precision Carbon Fiber Barrel on the Ruger Precision Rifle is simple, according to Helix 6. One simply needs an AR-style barrel nut wrench and the caliber-specific headspace gauges. However, Helix 6 recommends using the services of a gunsmith to ensure the headspace of the barrel.
