Ed Brown Products recently announced its newest edition to the Evolution Series of pistols, the KC9 Lightweight. Manufactured in small, custom batches, Ed Brown plans to offer this new model at a 30-percent lower price point.

The Evolution Series combines modern design, fixed configurations and state-of-the-art manufacturing in small, custom batches, according to Ed Brown. Add 30-percent savings, and the Evolution Series commands a look.

The KC9 Lightweight weighs just 27 ounces, making it perfect for everyday carry. It features a Bobtail housing and concealed carry grip safety. The pistol incorporates Snakeskin treatment on the frontstrap and Bobtail, providing a tactile, yet snag-free design. The slide measures just 4 inches, and it is thinned substantially for weight reduction. Meanwhile, a 7-top custom slide cut, with special front and rear serrations, deliver more purchase. A modern, external extractor, Tactical Edge rear sight, replaceable front sight, fluted bull barrel, flat wire recoil spring system and slim grips round out the features.

Like all Ed Brown 1911s, the company builds the KC9 via fully machined components, loaded with custom features. The pistol includes a written lifetime warranty. The entire package retails for $2,295.
