Savage Arms recently announced upgrades to its popular MSR 15 Recon LRP line of rifles. The Recon LRP line now features an adjustable gas block and longer barrel for better out-of-the-box long-range performance. Also, the additions include models chambered in .22 Nosler and .224 Valkyrie, calibers taking advantage of the ever-growing long-range shooting market.

Savage Recon LRP Features
Firstly, the Recon LRP features an 18-inch barrel to optimize velocities and accuracy, according to Savage Arms. Also, its gas block delivers adjustability, enabling shooters to tune to their ammunition for the best possible cycling. Further, like the original MSR 15 Recon, the Recon LRP comes standard with a two-stage trigger, free-float handguard and Savage barrel.
A mid-length gas system runs the Recon LRP. Additionally, outside, a Magpul CTR buttstock, tunable muzzlebrake, and M-LOK system on the handguard add to the versatility of the rifle platform.
The rifle utilizes a Melonite QPQ finish that Savage says will “ensure the most consistent, accurate performance in any conditions.” Meanwhile, a custom-forged lower receiver and Hogue pistol grip round out a package designed to look good and perform in the field.
