Gunwerks has just put out its GRB bolt rifle action as a separate part for custom rifle builders.
The Gunwerks GRB action sports a Remington 700 footprint and works with most Remington 700 insetted stocks. The body, which is made from 416 stainless steel, is corrosion-resistant and can be run unfinished or coated with a bunch of different coatings, including Cerakote. A proprietary Tri-Lock recoil lug offers the added benefit of an integral lug action in an affordable package, the company says in its press release.
Other features to note are a one-piece, NP3 coated bolt that can be field stripped. It includes a threaded, tactical bolt knob. The bolt design features “Borden Style” bumps for bolt alignment and lockup with smooth cycling. Meanwhile, a proprietary horizontal ejection system guarantees easy and reliable cartridge extraction.
When you get this action, you have a choice of a one or two-piece picatinny base with integrated 20 or 30 MOA.

The Gunwerks GRB action is available in right and left handed, short and long action, and standard or magnum bolt faces. It can be bought right now directly from Gunwerks, and through the company’s dealer network in the coming weeks, for $850. But there’s also an introductory price of $750 for the first 100 actions ordered, so you might want to get in on this sooner rather than later.
