The Maxim 9—a futuristic-looking, integrally-suppressed 9mm pistol—finally hit shelves earlier this year amid much anticipation. To hype its release, SilencerCo just put out a ridiculously awesome first-person shooter video that gives you the chance to see the Maxim 9 used in various self defense and recreational scenarios. Check it out above.

“We wanted to show the versatility of the Maxim 9 through the eyes of a shooter with scenarios where the user wouldn’t have the time or ability to put on hearing protection,” SilencerCo CEO Josh Waldron said in a statement.
“Everything was filmed with a GoPro from the perspective of the shooter to give an authentic and genuine feel to each situation,” SilencerCo’s videographer Jace LeRoy added.
Holster-able and hearing-safe with all manner of 9mm ammunition, the SilencerCo Maxim 9 is touted as being more compact and lighter than your traditional pistol-plus-silencer combo. Short and long versions are available. The short model measures 9.54 inches in length and weighs in at two pounds, five ounces, while the longer variant is 10.75 inches long and weighs two pounds, seven ounces.
“The goal was to provide a choice for customers when purchasing a firearm between a loud gun and a quiet gun of relatively the same size,” Waldron said. “Additionally, the Maxim 9 is just the beginning as we intend to make more integrally suppressed platforms so that all types of firearms can be more compact and quiet out of the box.”
