Have a youthful shooter that you’d like to get into shotgun hunting? The all new Stevens Model 555 Shotgun from Savage Arms is ideal for young shooters with its lightweight, over-under design.
Savage Arms has already released its 12 gauge over-under Stevens Model 555, with the 20 gauge version on its way within the next month.
The Stevens Model 555 is made with a lightweight alloy receiver.
It also features a Turkish walnut stock and forearm. The Stevens Model 555 has a single selective trigger.
As with any Savage or Stevens firearm not incorporating an Accutrigger, the trigger mechanism is not adjustable. Any adjustments made after the firearm leaves the factory may render it unsafe to shoot and is the sole responsibility/liability of the user.
Other features of the Stevens Model 555 include extractors, a manual safety and five Interchangeable choke tubes.
The Stevens Model 555 12 Gauge Shotgun has a barrel length of 28 inches with an overall length of 44 7/8 inches. Its weight of just 6 pounds makes the Stevens Model 555 one of the lighter shotguns in the 12 gauge market.
The 20 gauge version comes in at 5-and-a-half pounds and has a shortened barrel length of 26 inches with an overall length of 42 7/8 inches.
Both the 12 gauge and the 20 gauge version of the Stevens Model 555 Shotgun retail for $692.
The Model 555 is part of the Stevens Arms brand of Savage Arms. In 1920, Savage purchased J. Stevens Arms, a company which was associated with the famous barrel maker, Harry Pope.
