The US Navy has announced plans to establish three Mobile Tactical Operations Centers (MTOCs) in 2014, which support the deployment of Maritime Patrol and Reconnaisance Force (MPRF) aircrafts.
The deployment of three new MTOCs means there will now be 12 MTOCs in the fleet, including six in the pacific and six in the Atlantic. The role of the MTOCs is to support the 12 US Navy fleet patrol squadrons which fly the P-3C Orion and P-8A Poseidon aircraft.

In 2014, the Navy will activate MTOC Eight (on Feb. 1), MTOC Ten (onMay 1) and MTOC Twelve (on Aug. 1). Each tactical operations centers will be based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Wash.
