The new Detachable Bottom Metal by Stiller’s Precision Firearms is made from billet aluminum with a steel lever. It uses the battle proven Accuracy International magazines. The short action option is currently available, with the long action coming soon. The short action has magazines available for 223 based cases as well as the 308. The 308 based cartridges have magazines for both centerfeed and double stack. The double stack won’t work the the standard Remington action, but is perfectly suited for dedicated actions like the Stiller’s Precision Firearms Tactical 30 A/W.
Stiller’s Precision Firearms Detachable Bottom Metal has a computer analyzed truss pattern which reduces weight while still retaining strength and torsional stiffness. Additionally, the material above and below the stock line allows for better magazine control and a better fit while still being aligned.
Finally, the Detachable Bottom Metal will fit into a standard BDL bottom inlet in most stocks with their pillars if they use them (must meet remington specified depths). The only cutting needed is around the mgazine box. There is also added material in this area such that a high precision cut is not needed. The overhang covers up small imperfections in the cut area.
