The Lubbock (TX) Police Department will adopt a Glock duty pistol, putting LPD in line with the overwhelming majority of law enforcement agencies—including the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office.
The new Glock Model 22 magazines will carry 15 rounds, while the previous duty weapons’ magazines carry 12 rounds.
“The fact that we can get the Glocks at no cost to the PD (coupled with) the higher-capacity mags,” LPD Sgt. James Lewis said. “Sounds like most of the United States is starting to just go to Glocks.”
Another difference for officers will be in a shorter trigger pull, which will enhance accuracy by giving the shooter less time to make mistakes.
