Dozens of navy pilots were welcomed home by their families when they returned to NAS Lemoore on Tuesday morning after an eight-and-a-half month deployment.

The fighter pilots served in squadrons like ‘The Blue Diamonds’, ‘The Black Knights’, and ‘The Argonauts,’ all of which were aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. They conducted security missions as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, and also took part in exercises with coalition countries like Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Korea and Japan.
The USS Nimitz sailed more than 80,000 nautical miles during its deployment.
