SNEAK PEEK: JP ENTERPRISES LRP-07M .308

Over the years, JP Enterprises (JPE) has earned a reputation for crafting AR-platform rifles with accuracy that rival the best bolt actions. JPE rifles aren’t new to the tactical world, and the company’s .308 LRP-07M has an “M” suffix in its name to signify its future “military” uses. In the upcoming September 2013 issue of Tactical Weapons, author Jay Langston goes hands on with the rifle to test its mettle.

The rifle features several departures from the typical AR-platform rifle that help it maintain pinpoint accuracy, including an adjustable gas system, free-floating handguard, JPE’s Low Mass Operating System bolt carrier assembly—which is lighter than most others—and a unique, left-side charging handle that, according to Langston, allows you to “charge the LRP without dismounting the rifle, and the handle itself folds back automatically to minimize the rifle’s overall profile.”
