Mossberg Flex 500 Tactical 12 Gauge Shotgun Review

Flexibility. Capable of adapting to new, different or changing requirements. The more flexibility your body has, the less likely it’ll be injured. Defensive trainers extol the virtues of being able to change tactics or weapons at a moment’s notice. Survival experts believe those knowing something about almost everything have a better chance in survival situations. Obviously, some ideas about flexibility strike a positive chord with me.

To save departments and LEOs money, equipment should be flexible, able to do more than one job. AR-type rifles should work at long range and in CQB. Given parts, time and tools, virtually any shotgun can be converted to a different configuration. That’s not my idea of a practical and flexible firearm. It wasn’t Mossberg’s idea, either. With the FLEX System, operators can easily customize or reconfigure 500/590 shotguns by swapping recoil pads, forends and stocks.
