Winchester Ammunition is once again cementing PDX1® Defender™ as the industry’s most complete and innovative line of ammunition for personal defense.
Headlining the new PDX1 Defender products in 2012 is the Segmenting Slug™ for 12-gauge shotguns.
The uniquely designed PDX1 Defender Segmenting Slug segments into three pieces when fired into FBI protocol barriers such as bare, light cloth and heavy cloth covered ballistic gelatin. The round combines all of the advantages of a slug and buckshot, while eliminating the need for two different rounds.
With a growing number of gun owners turning to centerfire rifles for personal defense, Winchester Ammunition expands its PDX1 Defender centerfire rifle line with a new 77-grain, .223 Rem cartridge; and for the first time, a .308 Win. round with a revolutionary 120-grain bullet.
Using bullets with innovative Split Core Technology, the rounds are designed to deposit massive energy and rapidly expand without over-penetration. Both loads are ideal for close encounters common to personal defense scenarios and are designed for use in AR/MSR-style rifles.
“Winchester offers the most comprehensive lineup of innovative ammunition for personal defense … bottom line,” said Brett Flaugher, Winchester Ammunition vice president of marketing and sales. “The Segmenting Slug brings new innovation to personal defense shotgun loads and the Split Core Technology in the PDX1 Defender centerfire rifle round is revolutionary.” Learn more at Winchester.com.
