The Buck Knives Folding 040 Onset EDC Knife
The 3.375-inch blade of the 040 Onset features a full flat grind, providing a keen edge. An ultra-smooth ball bearing pivot system glides the blade into full lockup, via a frame lock. While open, at an overall length of 8.25 inches, the flipper acts as a guard, preventing slipping onto the blade.
The S45VN stainless steel blade has a Rockwell hardness of 59-61, thanks to the Paul Bos heat treat. The Paul Bos heat treat process has a reputation throughout the industry as one of the best heat treats available. The combination of S45VN and Paul Bos heat treat add up to excellent edge retention, corrosion and wear resistance.
A textured G-10 handle scale adorns the presentation side of the 040 Onset, for enhanced retention, even when wet. The 4.875-inch closed length of the 040 Onset rides deep in the pocket via the deep carry pocket clip. The pocket clip is set up for right-hand tip up carry only and is not reversible.
