VIDEO: Running the Silencer Central Banish 45 Suppressor

At the 2022 Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous event I got to go hands-on with a whole mess of suppressors and firearms I never thought I would have the opportunity to ever touch, let alone shoot. Among those suppressors was a .45-caliber can from Silencer Central called the Banish 45. Let me start by saying I really am not a huge fan of shooting suppressed pistols unless they are .22s. I have always had the misconception that they would add way too much weight to the pistol. Previous experience always sent me some splash back in my face and never really gave me enough advantages to outweigh the personal disadvantages for me. Well, that changed when I picked up a pistol with the Banish 45 on it.

Silencer Central Banish 45 Suppressor

The Banish 45 comprises a simple direct-thread suppressor made from titanium and aluminum. The can is modular like many on the market these days. It houses a total of 12 baffles in the longest configuration and eight baffles in the shorter configuration. At its longest configuration it measures 8.6 inches long and weighs only 11 ounces. Meanwhile, in the shorter configuration it runs 6.7 inches long and weighs 9.6 ounces. The can is clearly going to be a little bigger since it is 45 can and not a 9mm, but it still spans just 1 3/8 inches in diameter.

On a pistol with a set of suppressor-height sights you will still see over the can easily. The Banish 45 is user-serviceable from both ends and can easily adapt to nearly any gun with a variety of different pistons for different thread pitches. Silencer Central even designed the can so well it rates for full-auto, handling any chambering up to .45 ACP, including 10mm and subsonic 300 BLK.

The actual suppressor itself is an attractive yet a basic-looking package. Silencer Central has a few unique features they build into the entire Banish line, including their CanClean technology. The suppressor requires no special tools to disassemble the Banish. So cleaning and maintenance comes fast for shooters.

The silencer Central Whisper Tech tube allows the Banish 45 to assemble in any order for modularity.

Inside the Can

The Banish 45 also features the Stifle baffles inside it. These baffles are Silencer Central’s unique design that they use in all Banish suppressors. They make assembly after maintenance a breeze because you can put them in the can in any order. This entire package is really made possible thanks to the unique Whisper Tech tube. The tube is made of a lightweight titanium alloy and can go from 9 inches to 7 inches with ease, and by just changing the end caps, the shooter can change the firearm and caliber onto which their Banish suppressor mounts.

Shooting the Banish on a .45 ACP at the Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous impressed. The pistol they had the can mounted too had suppressor-height sights on it, so ringing steel was no issue at all. The tone from the can was pleasant. The 36-decibel sound reduction is plenty to allow the ears to breathe without hearing pro covering them. The Banish 45 impressed me and changed my views on pistol cans for sure.

Final Thoughts

Silencer Central not only is making some incredible cans, but they have simplified the process of purchasing a suppressor and made it so easy. The Banish 45 has an MSRP of $949 on their website, and you can literally fill out all your paperwork, pick your options for pistons and accessories, pay your tax stamp, and after your wait is over the Banish will show up right at your doorstep. No need to go to a store multiple times just to order and pay for your can. Silencer Central even has financing options that allow you to pay while you wait for the ATF to do their thing. The Banish brings tremendous performance in a well-built, lightweight, modular pistol suppressor. For more info, please visit silencercentral.com.
