We recently reported on the Blaser B2 riflescope line, which is optimized for the direct attachment of clip-on thermal devices. Designed to work with riflescopes like the B2 or as a stand-alone monocular, Liemke—a subsidiary of Blaser—offers the Luchs-1 and Luchs-2 thermal optics. The optics provide five color modes and a live-streaming mode with the corresponding app so you can save the highlights from your hunt.
Liemke Luchs-1 and Luchs-2 Thermal Optics
Featuring a tough, shock-resistant aluminum housing, both the Luchs-1 and Luchs-2 offer IP67 protection. For this reason, the thermal optics can be submerged in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes and still operate. As a result, the Luchs line is capable of enduring inclement weather and hard use in harsh environments.
The Luchs-1 offers a heat signature detection range of 1,750 meters with its 35mm objective lens. Likewise, the Luchs-2 has a heat signature detection range of up to 2,500 meters with its 50mm objective lens. The lenses on both models are protected by a scratch-resistant Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating for an extra level of protection.
With a 1024×768 OLED color display, both models feature a 640×512 12 µm VOx sensor for high contrast, detailed images. Additionally, the optics offer a whisper-quiet calibration procedure with a 50 Hz refresh rate. Likewise, they offer a fast and quiet startup time of only five seconds as well as a standby mode for immediate activation. Correspondingly, the built-in rechargeable battery offers a run time of up to 9 hours.
Offering a large field of view of 22 meters at 100 meters, the image on the Luchs-1 completely fills within the daytime riflescope at 2x magnification. Likewise, the Luchs-2 offers a field of view of 15.4 meters at 100 meters. In addition, the two “Sun” and “Rain” image modes provide optimal detail rendition in varying weather conditions. Five color modes also allow for use in all conditions, including an Extra Dark mode for glare-free images at night.
With an internal memory of 32GB, the Luchs can capture photos and videos of your hunt on the internal memory which can be transferred later via USB-C. Likewise, a Wi-Fi function allows for live streaming to an app on your phone or tablet.
Availability
The Liemke Luchs-1 and Luchs-2 Thermal Optics are available now with MSRPs of $5,554.00 – $6,110.00, depending on the model. For more info, please visit Liemke.com.
“Liemke is the top thermal optics brand in Germany, and the new German-made Luchs line raises the bar even higher when it comes to quality and performance,” said Jason Evans, CEO Blaser Group USA. “American hunters will recognize and appreciate the premium Made in Germany construction, advanced thermal technology, and high-definition performance the Luchs thermal optics deliver. Aptly named after the lynx, the Luchs-1 and 2 models deliver outstanding thermal night vision for hunters.”
