The next evolution of the RMR-driven line of optics from Trijicon is here. The Trijicon RCR (Ruggedized Closed Reflex) comprises a rugged, closed emitter optic that aimed military and law enforcement users. It blends rugged durability with an innovative new mounting system to immediately draw interest from professionals and civilians alike.
First off, and what we think will be a big hit with shooters of all types, comes in the new mounting system. The new patented Capstan screw mounting bolts prevent over-torquing and cross-threading, according to Trijicon. But the even bigger news–the system eliminates the need for different mounting plates. It mounts directly to any RMR bolt pattern and direct mounts.
Trijicon also designed the new optic to endure use and abuse like the legendary ACOG–a lofty goal, indeed. Built to survive direct impacts, according to Trijicon, it utilizes a 7075-T6 aluminum body, hard coat anodized. The housing recreates the famed RMR design, now in a closed emitter variant, still diverting force away from the lens like the RMRs we all know. The deck height also measures the same as the RMR, meaning RMR compatible sights work with the RCR as well.
A top-loading CR2032 battery powers the system, delivering up to six years of continuous operation on setting 5. Trijicon uses ruggedized battery contacts and electronics to further withstand abuse. Multi-coated lenses deliver light transmission. The buttons respond immediately and are very distinctive, some of the best, easy-to-use controls on a red dot yet.
The RCR retails for $849. For even more info, please visit trijicon.com.
