Cigars have grown in popularity in the firearms community. Many people have come to find that they are enjoyable and relaxing. Along with that growth, there has been more targeting of the 2A world with cigars and products. Some good and some questionable. One interesting one that came across my desk is the Stogie Mag.
Stogie Mag
The Stogie Mag is a portable cigar carrier/humidor that is built to resemble an A.R. rifle magazine. It is spring-loaded and feeds cigars just as a magazine feeds rounds. It is designed to hold a humidifier pack and, with the lid on, protects your precious cargo well. The Stogie Mag holds up to six cigars and easily fits in your range bag.
Tactical Humidor
The Mag is made using custom-made injection-molded plastic. Like an A.R. mag, a spring inside pushes the next cigar to the top. To access it, slide it out, and the cigar below will move into the feed position. The Mag fits cigars that measure 5 1/4 x 52.
Humidor-wise, each Mag comes with an Integra Boost humidification pack. The cigars are humidified. Simply slide off the removable floorplate to replace the pack and change them out. Stogie Mag suggests replacing the packets every three months. I personally loaded the mag here in sunny, dry Arizona, and the mag has done a great job keeping my traveling cigars in shape. I kept the Stogie Mag inside my range bag and it protected my cigars well.
Retro Instructions
The Stogie Mag has a retro touch as well. Inside the box you will find the instructions. They are based on the U.S. Army’s comic book-style instructions for the M16 rifle, which served as the basis for the AR-15. I enjoyed that and thought it was clever. It is an ingenious design and makes a fantastic gift for the cigar lover in your life. If you want a way to carry your cigars to the range or anywhere else, the Stogie Mag is something to consider.
