Sig Sauer recently released the P365-LUXE, boasting game-changing claims in the .380 subcompact arena.
“With the P365-LUXE, we are proud to deliver the softest, flattest shooting concealed carry pistol to date,” said Robby Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer. “SIG SAUER combines cutting-edge design innovation with decades of battle-tested experience to manufacture the highest quality, most reliable weapons on the market.”
The Sig Sauer P365-LUXE
I was honored to be one of the first to receive the P365-LUXE before its release. I was told a new gun was being sent, and the only information I had was that it was a .380. I’ll admit that smaller pistols chambered in .380 ACP aren’t exactly enjoyable for me. Let’s be honest, stereotypes stem from some form of legitimacy.

Typically, pistols chambered in .380 are small, which makes them popular for ease of concealment. The .380 round itself is considered a bit less powerful than other defensive rounds. Those two reasons draw people to conclude that this will provide them with a gun that is easier to handle.

The reality is that many .380 pistols have increased felt recoil due to their small size. They can make proper grip and gun handling skills challenging, especially for those with larger hands. This is where the P365-LUXE has changed the game,

I was immediately impressed when I opened the box. The P365-LUXE is a sexy gun with premium aesthetics. The pearlescent black Cerakote finish and polished controls give this gun a refined and luxurious look. Likewise, the custom LOK grip panels, specifically designed for this gun, boast Sig’s triad pattern, bringing an edgy, almost “badass” element to the overall appearance.
Running the P365-LUXE .380
I couldn’t wait to shoot it, and at the range, this gun did not disappoint. I can honestly say that the P365-LUXE is the softest, most comfortable shooting .380 I’ve ever experienced.
My go-to ammo was Hornady’s American Gunner 380 Auto, 90 gr XTP, which features hollow-point bullets. I ran multiple drills from concealment to moving and shooting. Most drills performed were defensive from 5-7 yards.

This gun was flat-shooting and provided incredible accuracy, enabling me to maintain tight, consistent groups, even at extended ranges of 25 yards.
While the gun performed well on the range, I recognize that it’s designed for everyday carry. Over the period of two weeks, I carried the Sig P365-LUXE as my EDC. What I discovered was that it is as impressive as a carry gun as it is a shooter.

The fact that Sig took the time to radius the edges and design the gun for comfort was noticeable. It was easy to conceal in both on- and off-body carry. I carried it both as an IWB setup and off-body in bags designed for concealed carry. In each setup, I found the gun to be light, concealable, and easy to draw and present in dry firing.
The P365-LUXE In Hand
Sig put true innovation and quality engineering behind the P365-LUXE, giving it enhanced shootability. The custom aluminum XL AXG grip module provides added weight, creating a solid platform that improves stability and control compared to traditional polymer frames. Likewise, the two-port, slide-integrated compensator redirects gases, reducing muzzle rise, which allows for faster follow-up shots.

Consistency and control are enhanced with a flat X-series trigger that lends to the pistol’s accuracy. It’s optics-ready and compatible with Sig Sauer optics and Shield RMSC patterns. Despite its compact size, the LUXE is high capacity and comes with three 12-round magazines, offering ample capacity for a .380 pistol.
Other exceptional characteristics include a 3.1-inch barrel and XRAY3 day/night sights. Sig also included its Romeo X red dot optic for my P365-LUXE, which was fantastic.
The Romeo X features a CNC 7075 aluminum housing, intuitive adjustment buttons, a side-mounted battery compartment, and an ultra-low deck height that allows for co-witnessing with standard-height iron sights.

While the Romeo X is a great addition, the XRAY 3-day/night sights are highly efficient on their own. The 3-Dot tritium system offers glowing illumination in low-light conditions. The blacked-rear sight and high-contrast front sight enable fast target acquisition in any light condition.

Parting Shots
I was highly impressed with the form and function of the P365-LUXE. In addition, I was equally impressed with the concealed carry benefits it offers. This gun is smooth, snag-free, easily concealed, and compatible with XMacro holsters. For this reason, it is an excellent option for any shooter to carry for self-defense.

While the 380 ACP may be slightly less powerful than other calibers, it is still lethal and will get the job done. This is especially true with accurate shot placement, which is much more attainable with a quality pistol like this.
That said, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention training. No matter how well-made and reliable a gun is, it’s only as accurate as the person handling it. Training is essential. Consistent accuracy is crucial and can only be achieved through consistent training. It doesn’t matter how amazing your firearm is if you can’t hit your target.
However, one of the most impressive points is Sig Sauer’s infinite guarantee. Not a lifetime guarantee, an infinite guarantee. Yes, that’s right, forever. No receipts, no warranty cards, and it is fully transferable. That guarantee, combined with the custom attributes this gun offers, makes the price point fair and reasonable.
