At the recent Athlon Outdoors Rendezvous, Nighthawk Custom brought its Treasurer, and it was as incredible as it looked. When it comes to guns and knives, I’ll admit that I tend to steer toward utilitarian models. However, like the next guy, I do like amazing works of functional art. This is especially true when they shoot as nicely as the Treasurer.
The Nighthawk Custom Treasurer
The fourth installment in the Boardroom Series 1911 family, the Treasurer, looks like something you would expect the CEO to carry. Building on an officer frame, the Treasurer is chambered in 9mm with a 3.8-inch Gold Titanium Nitride crowned match-grade bull barrel.
The barrel is nestled in a DLC-finished slide with heavy angle cuts and forward windows, exposing the gold barrel. Riding atop the slide is a Heinie Black Ledge rear sight, coupled with a 14k gold bead front sight.
The grips feature matching 25 LPI checkering on the front and back straps. Likewise, custom Ascend grips from Railscales assure a positive purchase and enhanced retention while firing. Additionally, the one-piece mainspring housing/magwell provides for fast, easy reloads.
A single-stack, 8-round magazine helps keep the Treasurer slim for ultimate concealed carry. Likewise, the Treasurer is completely dehorned for comfortable carry. Finally, rounds are sent downrange via the lightweight aluminum Nighthawk Custom tri-cavity trigger.
