On Nov. 6, the Democratic Party won back the House of Representatives. This means change is coming. For gun owners, the news isn’t good, as the majority of anti-gun politicians call themselves Democrats. In fact, one House member didn’t even wait for the results, introducing an anti-gun bill — H.R. 7115 — a few days before.

Rep. Frank Pallone Jr., D-NJ, introduced H.R. 7115, calling it the 3D Firearms Prohibitions Act. However, the bill does much more than just prohibit 3D guns. It could potentially affect all semi-auto rifles, but particularly AR-15s.

Of course, bills seldom make it all the way with the original wording. So, many things could change in the bill as it travels through committees. Additionally, the GOP still controls the Senate and White House. A bill cannot become a law without both being involved. Still, it shows that the anti-gunners have been bolstered by the predictions and results of the mid-term elections.

What H.R. 7115 Really Means

Now anti-gunners have long hidden their agenda. They claim to support gun rights, but try to prevent access to many types of firearms. They also use code words to hide what they are actually doing. This includes with the 3D Firearms Prohibitions Act.

While H.R. 7115 seems to focus on the production of 3D firearms, it actually centers arounds modern sporting rifles.

The text reads in part:

“To prohibit the sale, acquisition, distribution in commerce, or import into the United States of certain firearm receiver castings or blanks, assault weapon parts kits, and machinegun parts kits and the marketing or advertising of such castings or blanks and kits on any medium of electronic communications, to require homemade firearms to have serial numbers, and for other purposes.”

So basically, if the bill passes, it will ban the sale of rifle parts kits. It also bans advertising such parts, including serialized AR-15 lowers.

Even worse, it makes no distinction on firearm repair, as it doesn’t define parts kits. This could prevent gun owners from purchasing replacement parts for rifles. It could also make drop-in parts, such as triggers, illegal. It would absolutely ban the sale of 80-percent guns, which are available from several sources.

Now the chance of this bill becoming a law is slim at this point. However, it does show the direction of the gun control crowd. Groups have already begun fighting this bill, including Gun Owners of America. The National Rifle Association probably won’t be far behind. This bill does; however, require that gun owners actually stand up for their rights, or face the potential of losing America’s rifle.
