CBS affiliate KHOU reports that the incident began to unfold at around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday when the homeowner’s wife pulled into the couple’s driveway. As she got out of the vehicle, two men suddenly approached and grabbed her.

Alarmed, the homeowner grabbed a gun and went to confront the suspects. A gunfight erupted, during which one of the suspects took a round to the head.
Police arrived on the scene to find the wounded suspect on the ground on the driveway. He was subsequently transported to an area hospital. As of this writing, he is listed in critical condition. Authorities have not yet released his identity. The only thing known is that he is 22-years of age.
The second suspect fled the scene before police arrived. He is still at large.
