The massive aftermarket for Glock pistols and accessories just got a little bit bigger thanks to the introduction of the “Combat Special” Glock 19 slide from Texas-based company Shadow Systems.

Custom Glock 19 Slide
Designed to boost the function and handling of your Glock 19, the Combat Special slide is machined from hardened 17-4 stainless steel and features aggressively raked front and rear serrations. It also sports window and pocket cuts that cut down on the overall weight. Meanwhile, the slide boasts chamfers and radiuses that are “precisely executed,” the presser says. An optics mount is also included which is cut for the Trijicon RMR miniature red dot sight.
The Combat Special slides are coated in “hard-use finishes.” DLC is known for its hardness, lubricity and deep black color. Meanwhile, the PVD FDE is “chemically identical” to the finish picked for the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System. “Not simply Cerakote, this is a chemically bonded PVD finish that is substantially tougher than conventional epoxy type finishes,” the company claims.
Partnership With OpticsPlanet
Shadow Systems teamed up with OpticsPlanet for the launch of this slide; It’s available exclusively on OpticsPlanet’s website.
“We’re excited to be partnering with Optics Planet on this product,” said Shadow Systems GM Trevor Roe. “Their input into the design helped us create a slide that looks great but is built tough enough for serious work. We are looking forward to doing other products with the OpticsPlanet team in the future.”
Currently shipping in a Gen3 configuration, with Gen4 coming soon, the Combat Special Glock 19 slide is priced at $369.99. A hardcoat anodized cover plate; cover plate screws; and RMR mounting screws are included.
