The Springfield Saint AR Is Now Available in Pistol Form

The Springfield Saint, released last year as the company’s first-ever foray into the AR-15 rifle market, can now be bought in pistol form.

Doing away with a rifle buttstock, the new Springfield Saint AR-15 pistol sports a SB Tactical SBX-K forearm brace that reduces size, stabilizes recoil and boosts accuracy for both one and two-handed shooting. Chambered for 5.56x45mm NATO, this pistol has a 7.5-inch, Melonite-treated 416R stainless steel barrel with a 1:7 twist, making it small, fast and ideal for CQB.

Other features to note here include a blast diverter on the muzzle to push sound, concussion and debris forward towards the target; patent-pending free float handguard with locking tabs and a forward hand stop; enhanced nickel boron-coated GI single-stage trigger; Bravo Company Trigger guard; heavy tungsten buffer system; low profile pinned gas block; GI style charging handle and a Bravo Company Mod 3 pistol grip. Meanwhile, the M16 bolt carrier group is precision-machined from Carpenter 158 steel, shot peened and magnetic particle inspected and Melonite-finished.

Like the other models in the Springfield Saint lineup, the pistol features the company’s Accu-Tite tension system that increases the tension between the upper and lower to ensure a good fit and reduce shake and rattle. Both receivers are forged from Type III hard-coat anodized 7075 T6 aluminum.

An ideal choice for home defense thanks to its compact frame, the Springfield Saint AR-15 pistol has an overall length of 26.5 inches and weighs in at five pounds, eight ounces. It carries a Magpul Gen 3 30-round magazine.
