Last year, Springfield entered the AR market for the first time with the Saint personal defense rifle. Earlier this year, the company introduced a version of the Saint with a free float handguard, as well as a California compliant model. Now, the latest addition to the Springfield Saint lineup is a model that sports Flat Dark Earth (FDE) furniture.
Specifically, this new Springfield Saint model has a Bravo Company Mod 3 pistol grip, trigger guard, PKMR KeyMod handguard, and six position buttstock in FDE. Everything else on this version of the rifle retains the matte black finish seen on the original model.
Built with a direct impingement mid-length gas system and chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO, the FDE Springfield Saint shares the same features as the base version, including a 16-inch chrome moly vanadium barrel with a 1:8 twist; Type III hard anodized aircraft-grade 7075 T6 aluminum upper and lower; proprietary nickel boron coated GI trigger; low-profile, flip-up rear sight that offers dual apertures and 0.5-MOA windage adjustments; and fixed front sight.
The Springfield Saint in FDE also features an overall weight of 6 pounds and 11 ounces and overall length of 35.5 inches fully extended. It ships with one 30-round Magpul PMAG and is available at a suggested retail price of $899.
