Hogue has unleashed a new everyday carry pocket knife designed by Allen Elishewitz: the X1-Microflip.

“The X1-Microflip is an amazing piece of precision manufacturing,” said Hogue’s lead knife engineer Scott Bruhns. “Our customers have been demanding a streamlined sub 3.0 inch Allen Elishewitz designed knife and we have seriously knocked this one out of the park. This knife is so full of features it honestly has to be held to fully appreciate the cohesive design and execution by Allen and the Hogue team.”

The X1-Microflip features Hogue’s button lock mechanism along with its patent-pending blade retention device which keeps the blade in the closed position, allowing the user to “create stored up kinetic energy culminating in the firing of the blade,” the company says. With a press of the lock button, the knife can be closed with one hand without placing your fingers in the path of the blade like your standard liner lock flippers.

“This knife contains no springs. It is a manual flipper yet acts surprisingly like an automatic,” Bruhns said.

The knife boasts a 2.75-inch drop point blade which comes either stone wash tumbled or with a black Cerakote finish. The blade is made from .120-inch thick CPM154 steel and offers corrosion resistance while providing edge retention. It’s also cryogenically heat-treated to 57-59 RC, then hand-sharpened and honed.

The X1-Microflip sports a Type III hard coat anodized 6061-T6 aluminum frame sculpted for an ergonomic grasp and one-handed deployment. According to the press release, the frame is patterned an escalating indent texture for added grip traction and ncludes a pointed impact pommel. It also features a reversible clip and filler plate for ambi tip-up carry.
