Winchester has announced three new additions to its bolt-action XPR rifle line for 2017: the XPR Hunter Mountain Country Range, and two updated XPR Hunter Compact models.

According to the press release, the XPR Hunter Mountain Country Range rifle features a polymer stock dipped in Mossy Oak Mountain Country Range camo. It also includes a M.O.A. trigger system; Perma-Cote matte blued metal surface to minimize glare; detachable box magazine; steel recoil lug; two position thumb safety and Influx Technology recoil pad. It’s available in a bunch of different calibers from .243 Win to .338 Win. Mag. The barrel length for the short-action caliber rifles is 22 inches, short magnum and standard long action is 24 inches, and long action magnum calibers is 26 inches. The average weight for this model is between 6Âľ – 7ÂĽ pounds. The MSRP is $599.99.
Also in the pipeline for 2017 are two new XPR Hunter Compact rifles. The XPR Hunter Compact is now available in short-action calibers from .243 Win. to 325 WSM short magnum calibers. MSRP for this option is $549.99. Meanwhile, it’s also available in Mossy Oak Break-Up Country camo—in the same calibers—at a MSRP of $599.99. Both models boast a shorter, 13-inch length of pull for younger and smaller shooters. The average weight here is 6 ½ – 6 Âľ pounds. The barrel lengths are 20 inches on short action standard calibers and 22 inches on WSM calibers.
