Archangel AA47 OPFOR Series: Archangel Manufacturing’s polymer AA47 OPFOR Series kit will fit on most AK variants. This upgrade kit includes an ergonomic handguard with an internal heat shield and optional Picatinny rails, a redesigned pistol grip with an internal storage compartment and aggressive texturing for a better hold, and an AR-style collapsible buttstock with ambidextrous QD sling attachment points. These stock sets area available in black, desert tan and OD green.
ATI AK-47 Elite Package: The AK-47 Elite Package from Advanced Technology International (ATI) is a complete polymer stock replacement kit for most stamped-receiver AKs. It includes a six-position-adjustable buttstock with an internal recoil compensation system, an adjustable cheekrest, ambidextrous QD sling swivel points and a removable, non-slip, recoil-absorbing buttpad. The kit also includes an ergonomic Scorpion pistol grip with rubber inserts and finger grooves as well as ventilated upper and lower handguards with rails for installing optics or accessories.
BCM Gunfighter KAG: Recognizing that the small handguards on a traditional AK do a poor job of protecting the shooter’s hand, some AKs—specifically Romanian and Hungarian models—added vertical foregrips. These were angled forward slightly to ease reloading. For a user-installed option, we turn to Bravo Company Manufacturing (BCM). The BCM Gunfighter KAG (Kinesthetic Angled Grip) features a forward-angled rake that provides a firmer hold and increased user comfort while decreasing fatigue. Both KeyMod and Picatinny rail versions of this tough polymer grip are available.
Boyds Gunstocks: If the original wood is more to your liking, there are few better options than Boyds Gunstocks, which makes a phenomenal smooth laminated wooden stock set for most stamped-receiver AKs. Some variants may require additional fitting because this product follows the Romanian AK pattern. The laminated wood designs are very attractive and are available in a brown nutmeg, green camouflage and gray/black pepper. Each set includes original handguards, a pistol grip and a stock with a 13.25-inch length of pull and a rubber recoil pad.
Century Arms SB47: With the increasing popularity of AK pistols and stabilizing arm braces for AR pistols, it was only natural for a company like Century Arms to design an arm brace for the AK pistol. The SB47 stabilizing brace attaches to the receiver via the pistol grip with a simple wedge design. It features twin contoured rubber panels that wrap around the shooting arm and secure with Velcro straps. Instead of holding the AK pistol with just your hand, the arm brace provides a much more secure, supported and balanced grip. This technique dramatically improves the balance of the pistol and makes it easier to shoot accurately even when not using the brace. Just don’t shoulder the weapon via the brace for legal reasons.
Command Arms AK47SFSP: Many shooters who own ARs already have a preferred stock. Thanks to Command Arms Accessories (CAA), you can install your favorite AR stock on your AK and even improve upon it. The AK47SFSP stock adapter installs like a replacement stock on your stamped-receiver AK but features an AR-style buffer tube extension with six length-of-pull positions. Also, this stock adapter features a reversible side-folding capability so the user can choose between a left- and right-side folding. The stock adapter features polymer, aluminum and steel construction for strength.
Ergo AK Classic Grip: Ergo grips are both hand-filling and ergonomic, with finger grooves and textured side panels. The Ergo AK Classic Grip features soft rubber overmolding on top of the rigid polymer core as well as an internal, waterproof storage compartment to keep small parts or spare batteries for optics.
Ergo AK Rigid Grip: In some environments, such as harsh desert conditions, the overmolding can become worn, so some users prefer the Ergo Rigid AK Grip. This grip has the same shape and feel, but it’s made of hard plastic polymer with texturing that won’t wear off over time.
FAB Defense Tactical Folding Buttstock: FAB Defense is an Israeli company that manufactures weapon accessories, including stock sets for nearly every AK variant out there. FAB Defense even makes polymer stocks for the Israeli Galil, Czech VZ-58, Saiga and Dragunov. These stocks are available for stamped and milled receivers, and there is a version that fits traditional under-folders as well. Collapsible models are available as well as those that fold and collapse, like the Tactical Folding Buttstock. These stocks are made of fiberglass-reinforced polymer with rubber buttpads, standard sling attachment points and QD sling swivel points for maximum versatility.
FAB Defense AGR-47 Grip: The AGR-47 rubberized pistol grip from FAB Defense is an ergonomic alternative that fills the hand much better than the original AK grip, and it offers a more secure hold with the added benefit of an internal storage compartment. The AGR-47 features multiple textured surfaces and a middle finger indexing point. The grip is available in a variety of colors, too.
Hogue AK Stock Sets: Hogue’s Tactical Rifles line of stock sets for the AK feature the company’s trademark soft rubber overmolding and pebble texturing. The result is an extremely comfortable handguard with an aluminum heat shield that will keep your support hand cooler during sustained strings of fire. The handguard features a distinctive swell at the rear and a quad-rail design with removable side and bottom rail sections. The matching ergonomic pistol grip features finger grooves for a better hold and a beavertail design that vastly improves user comfort over standard grips. The stock sets are available in a variety of colors to suit user preference.
Magpul Zhukov-S: Magpul’s polymer Zhukov-S stock is designed to fit stamped-receiver AK variants, and another version fits Yugoslavian AKs. This stock is feature-laden with ambidextrous QD sling swivel attachment points and five different length-of-pull positions. It also very conveniently folds to the right side, allowing full rifle operation and not interfering with side-mounted optics.
Magpul MOE AK Grip: Magpul also offers several pistol grip options for the AK such as the MOE AK Grip, which features aggressive texturing and an internal storage space that can accept multiple grip cores for different accessories, small parts or batteries.
Magpul MOE SL AK Grip: The MOE SL AK Grip, which has a more vertical grip angle and is smaller and slimmer than the other AK grips, so there is no internal storage compartment.
Magpul MOE-K2 AK Grip: The MOE-K2 AK Grip offers the same improved grip angle and textured design but is larger with an internal storage space. This grip also features a deeper backstrap for the web of the hand for more trigger reach.
Stark AK-47 Rifle Grip: The Stark AK-47 Rifle Grip represents a vast improvement over standard AK grips. Its polymer construction is robust and completely resistant to weather and chemicals. This grip also has a waterproof internal storage space for two CR123 batteries, and you can also order an optional AA battery plug. To ensure a secure, ergonomic grasp in all conditions, the grip has aggressive texturing, palm swells, a thumb rest, a beavertail and a sharp grip angle. A tab at the front of the grip melds with the triggerguard for more comfort. Finally, the grip is available in a variety of colors.

The AK SAW-Style Pistol Grip, made from tough polymer, offers an ergonomic grip angle for more comfort and control, and it features an internal storage compartment that can be accessed via a trapdoor in the butt of the grip.
TAPCO AK T6: TAPCO offers a wide variety of polymer AK stock systems in various colors, included standard full-length stocks and collapsible models like the AK T6, which is available for both for both milled- and stamped-receiver AKs. When the AK was first developed, the earliest synthetic materials started appearing in firearms designs. These early examples were too weak to be used for something that required a lot of durability, like a stock. So, the AK began with a wooden stock, either solid wood or, for more strength and greater durability in the elements, laminated wood. American manufacturers make new and very attractive AK stocks in these original materials. But Kalashnikov fans can also opt to modernize their AKs with the latest and most ergonomic polymer stocks—fixed, folding or collapsible—as well as new grips and handguards for completely personalized rifles.
