Abel Suppressor Co. Theorem — Top Shelf Silencer For The Discerning Rifleman

Now that we are in the most hey of suppressor days, due to the lack of NFA tax, you’re going to hear me harp and preach on acquiring good stuff. The flood gates have opened but keep this in mind, you still have to go through a paperwork process to acquire any suppressor and once you have that suppressor it is registered to you. The only way to change that is to transfer it to someone else and that is less likely than it sounds. Your goal should be to acquire products that you’re pretty sure you’ll be happy with. This is done through research.

Abel Suppressor History

Abel Suppressor Company is based in California. I remember distinctly Mike Abel telling me “our suppressors aren’t for everyone, they’re for a higher end customer,” there it is right out of the gate. I appreciate that sentiment. That tells me immediately that I’m dealing with, quality goods and when it comes to suppressors, quality matters.

Abel Company is not new to the world of precision rifle wares. In fact I have a tripod table, The Abel Table, that is years old from them. At the time I was discussing their suppressors, I didn’t realize it was the same company. The Abel table is no-nonsense and gave me comfort knowing that this company was making suppressors too.

Enter Abel Suppressor’s Theorem

Biscuit. P I. These are names of their other suppressors. You have to like when a company gets creative with their nomenclature. My interest though was the Theorem, a suppressor utilized by many a rifle shooter.

Crafted from Grade 5 Titanium, Abel Co. has created something truly special. Their goal: create a durable but lightweight suppressor that would very effectively reduce sound, while minimizing point of impact shift, if not completely eliminate it. These goals are not uncommon for suppressors manufactures. But there is one caveat—it needed to look amazing too. I appreciate this and the Theorem M is just that—amazing looking. Finished in a beautiful great Cerakote, I was blown away when I first opened the box. They guys at the local shop were too. We just stood around admiring it and smiling.

Detailed, intricate machining adorns the Theorem. Several design elements are fused together to create something good to observe. A guy at the shop asked if it was a Star Wars type of theme and I could clearly see why he said so. Mike Abel denied any Star Wars influence but mentioned a significant amount of design involved.

The Theorem is HUB compatible so you can use any HUB devices you might have. It came with a 5/8×24 direct thread, my preferred attachment type. The front end cap of the Theorem threads off in a precise manner and can be replaced with their own brake device that is impressive in its own right. I can’t overstate just how well everything is done on this suppressor.

The Experience

Typically, suppressor packaging is nothing to talk about but in the case of the Theorem, it is. The box is a heavy material with textured, black matte finish. It’s nice. Supple if I dare say. The Abel Co name is embossed in big white letters. Inside, a matte black envelope with literature, stickers, and a patch resides. The suppressor rests inside, next to an included wrench. This is where you’ll find that extra added touch.

The wrench lies in a specific slot of the packaging but Abel Co. saw fit to put a piece of ribbon under it so that you could easily extract it by pulling up on the tabs. Say what you want but this shows some insight. You’re not left digging around to get to the tool or turning the whole thing upside down. If you’ve ever opened a product from Apple then you know what I’m talking about. The Abel Co experience is much like that but for firearms. It’s definitely a welcome change.

Sending It

I placed the Theorem on a 6.5 Creedmoor. In this case a Falkor 7even competition build. It’s got a 24 inch barrel and weighs roughly 23 pounds. Abel Suppressor Co. is a sponsor of the PRS, and this is the type of rifle that fits the bill.

I shot a 5 shot group unsuppressed then one suppressed. POI shifted one inch higher and 1.25 inches left with the Theorem attached. Group size looked like it improved as well but I didn’t shoot enough groups to come to any solid conclusion. Recoil impulse coming from the Theorem is excellent as well and I was able to keep my reticle over my target fairly easily.

Some longer range work revealed the same—a solid suppressor delivering low levels of noise, eliminating all concussion, all while being very managable.

The Abel Suppressor Co Theorem is a real treat. High quality look, feel, and presentation to match. You truly feel like you’re buying something special and you are. Not all suppressors can be like this but I’m always drawn to ones that are. The Theorem is an excellent precision rifle suppressor worthy of being attached to your rifle.
