One of the biggest evolutions in handguns over the last decade has been the inclusion of cuts for red dots. Pistol-mounted optics are more than just a fad, and everyone expects new guns to be optics-friendly. While individual companies have worked to meet this demand, a new partnership was just announced. Glock and Aimpoint have now teamed up. This collaboration features select Glock 9mm pistols. They will be equipped with the new Aimpoint COA red dot optic, mounted using Aimpoint’s proprietary A-CUT interface.

Aimpoint COA – A Glock and Aimpoint Collaboration

The new Aimpoint COA red dot optic is primarily designed for concealed carry pistols. It is designed for use on both slimline and standard-size pistol frames. The optic was developed and engineered with a focus on performance. The COA combines ease of use, reliability, performance, and innovation in an ultra-compact design.

Five Guns to Choose From

There will be several pistols with the Aimpoint COA Optic and A-CUT interface. These include the G43X, G48, G19 Gen5, G45, and G47 models. The Aimpoint COA optic is sold exclusively within this package and is not being sold separately at this time. This collaboration gives the user superior “out-of-the-box” performance without sacrificing value. The A-cut is essentially a ledge design where the front of the optic is set under a ledge at the front. The rear of the optic is then secured by the installation of the screw-down rear sight, now holding it all in place.

New A-Cut Interface Mounting System

The unique Aimpoint A-CUT interface mounting system allows the sight to be mounted deeper into the pistol slide for extreme stability and durability. This will ensure long-lasting, rugged performance in any condition. Its innovative, low-profile design makes for easier unholstering, enhancing usability and concealment capabilities. The jointly developed Aimpoint A-CUT allows the red dot sight to be mounted directly on the pistol without needing adapter plates. The wide window on the Aimpoint COA sight, combined with the low mount, allows the dot to co-witness with the factory iron sights.
