The Alien Gear Shape Shift Holster System Is Insanely Modular

Alien Gear isn’t lacking for innovative ideas. The Idaho-based manufacturer is known for introducing exciting, envelope-pushing holster products, and it looks like that trend will continue in 2017. At SHOT Show this year, we checked out the new Alien Gear Shape Shift Modular Holster System. Check out the video above for a closer look at that, as well as Alien Gear’s new Cloak Mag Carrier.

The Alien Gear Shape Shift system is designed to meet all of your concealed carry needs. As USA Carry points out, it allows you to buy a single scabbard and attach it to multiple mountings, which include IWB /OWB, Appendix, Belt Slide, Paddle, Drop Thigh, Ankle, Forearm, Pocket, Surface Mount, Molle and Shoulder.

Best of all, you don’t need tools to move the scabbard to different mounts. Alien Gear will first offer this unique product in a Starter Kit format by the summer. The kit includes two IWB holsters (Hip and Appendix) and two OWB holsters (Paddle and Slide). The other holsters will launch by the end of the year.

When the Alien Gear Shape Shift system rolls out, it’ll be able to accommodate nine or 10 of the most common handguns. That number will grow to 25-40 by the end of the year, which covers 75 to 85 percent of the guns that people own. No word yet on MSRP.
