The Alien Gear ShapeShift Ankle Holster is here after years of development.

Designed as an option for those who sit most of the day, don’t want a holster on their waistline or are looking to carry a backup gun, the Alien Gear ShapeShift Ankle Holster is made with CoolVent neoprene. At its heart is an upper and lower strap that work together to stabilize and secure the gun.
The lower strap wraps around the heel of the foot and covers the ankle, where it then locks into place via hook and loop fasteners. The upper strap boasts a polymer spine matching the shape of the user’s ankle which hooks into a pocket on the side of the lower strap. This locks the holster in place and stops it from sliding down the ankle. The upper strap is then wrapped around the lower calf and covers the surface of the shell. It’s held in place by another set of hook and loop fasteners. The spine connects to a thermo elastomer piece that supports the shell and allows for six ride height levels, the product listing states.

According to Alien Gear, the injection-molded polymer shell encapsulates the trigger guard and features a passive retention unit that enables tension to be made “tighter or looser with a twist lock for a personalized draw.” The shell rests against a piece of thermoplastic elastomer stitched to the upper strap. Alien Gear characterizes the thermoplastic as “a texturized, rubber surface that further grips the firearm to keep it in one firm position during daily, routine leg movements.”

Sporting an open-mouth design, the Alien Gear ShapeShift Ankle Holster is capable of carrying both compact and full-size guns. The company recommends that you wear the holster over mid-length socks for optimum comfort.
Additionally, this ankle holster is compatible with the ShapeShift Modular Holster System, so it can quickly switch to a number of different IWB, OWB and tactical style holsters.
