Although Russell was a great painter, he had a wide variety of accomplishments. He was an avid sculptor, storyteller, and photographer. By the time Russell died on Oct. 24, 1926, he produced more than 2,000 art pieces. Even today, very few artists are able to portray their subjects as well as C.M. Russell. His artwork is on display at the C.M. Russell Museum in Great Falls, Montana.
