Back in August, we brought you news on the new Anderson Manufacturing Precision Series. It sparked immediate interest, with four different models, affordably priced, chambered in 5.56mm. Now Anderson adds to the series, right in time for hunting season, with two new models chambered in the growing .350 Legend.
Anderson Manufacturing Precision Series Adds .350 Legend
The hunting rifles come via the Sharpshooter and Marksman variants. The Sharpshooter comes with a 20-inch government profile barrel, while the Marksman sports an 18-inch barrel. Each comes fitted with an A2 flash hider. Both rifles utilize carbine-length gas systems and feature the Anderson Low-Profile Steel Gas Block. A 15-inch M-LOK handguard provides accessory attachment points.
Inside, a Schmid Tool Two-Stage Trigger upgrades the fire control with 4 1/2-pound pull. A Magpul MOE-K2 Pistol Grip and fully adjustable PRS stock complete the furniture. Quick-detach sling mounts, adjustable comb and length of pull and a low-profile buttpad round out this well-executed hunting package.
The .350 Legend continues gaining momentum in hunting camps. Developed for states and hunting area requiring straight-walled cartridges, the .350 Legend delivers an upgrade in performance. Hunters already know, it’s billed as “the fastest straight-walled hunting cartridge in the world.”
Editor’s Note: The following story introduced the Anderson Manufacturing Precision Series in August 2022:
Few product categories continue driving interest quite like long-range and precision shooting. From long-distance hunting to PRS-style matches, it seems riflemen increasingly desire to go long. Now more folks can afford it than ever before. The Anderson Manufacturing Precision Series brings four unique long-range ARs to the market. All chambered in 5.56, each rifle retails for less than $1,000.
Anderson Manufacturing Precision Series Details
The Precision Series includes four distinct models: The Competitor, The Marksman, The Sharpshooter and The Varminter. Each comes with a Schmid Tool two-stage trigger and Magpul PRS (Precision Rifle Series) Lite stock. The Schmid trigger delivers a 4 1/2-pound pull with a quick reset, according to Anderson Manufacturing. Meanwhile, the PRS Lite delivers versatility via ambidextrous, quick-detach sling mounts, along with comb height and length of pull adjustment. A low-profile rubber buttpadd provides adjustment for both height and cant. The entire component weighs just 18.2 ounces.
“The precision series was developed to serve Anderson customers who like to push the limits of the AR-15 platform,” said Truman Brough, Engineer, Anderson Manufacturing. “These rifles were designed with accuracy in mind, for the most demanding shooters. Attach your favorite optic and stretch your limits at the range.”

Editor’s Take:
At first glance, this looks like a well-executed series of rifles. The 5.56 chambering makes it a great first foray into long-range (read mid-range in practical application). This provides an excellent platform to take those first steps in shooting at longer ranges. With four models featuring smart choices in affordable, quality components, the Precision Series provides a solid entry-level long-range AR.
