With the release of their new Rhino Series handguards, AP Custom continues their tradition of releasing quality products. There are two separate versions of these durable handguards, one made of aluminum, and one made of carbon fiber. In addition, each variant is available for .223 and .308. The Rhino Series handguards also come with a KeyMod rail mounting system which allows for rapid configuration of the AR weapons platform. MSRP for these new handguards is not yet available.
Also new for 2014, the Rhino Series bolt carrier group — offered in both full mass and low mass — is precision-machined from high-quality 8620 steel and nickel-boron coated for durability. Furthermore, it is available for both .223 and .308. The Rhino Series trigger group is wire EDM cut from hardened tool steel and has a nickel-boron coating. In addition, it is a straight drop-in trigger with chrome silicon springs, anti-walk pins, and a pull weight of 3-3.5 pounds, making this a top-notch trigger group.
AP Custom is also noted for their popular shotshell carriers, which are machined from solid billet aluminum. In addition, they utilize AP Custom’s 303 Hi-Yield stainless steel leaf springs which allows for optimized shell retention while still supplying a smooth grab. All shotshell carriers by AP Custom accept Blade-Tech Tek-Lok, Safariland ELS, and Blade-Tech MOLLE belt attachments.
All products by AP Custom are manufactured in St. Louis, Missouri by American workers using American-made parts and components. As they gears up to release their new Rhino Series handguards, bolt carrier group and trigger group, one can certainly expect great things from AP Custom as they continue to grow in 2014.
