Army Conducts ‘Deep Future’ Wargame

The Army has conducted a series of “Deep Future” Wargame exercises which envision what war would look like in the year 2030. The wargame, which was held at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pa., are designed to explore challenges and develop new insights for leaders to protect national interests in the coming decades.

A few different scenarios were played out. In one, the United States has been hit by a chemical weapons attack and the terrorists responsible are from a landlocked nuclear-armed nation with hostile neighbors. The Army’s mission was to secure and stabilize the enemy’s cache of chemical weapons.
