The F/TR-308 uses the latest innovation in the patented SABER-FORSST modular rifle chassis system (MRCS), a rigid interlocking action/chassis design. The F/TR precision rifle is ideal for new or experienced shooters that need a precision competition rifle platform with modular upgradeability, requiring minimal maintenance, that assures shooter comfort and delivers uncompromising accuracy.
The F/TR-308 is built around the precision CNC machined SABER SX bolt action receiver, a newly engineered manufacturing collaboration with Stiller’s Precision Firearms that accepts two styles of detachable box magazines and APO’s Single Shot Target Block. The fire control mechanism is the new fully adjustable T7T developed by 11-time NRA National High Power Rifle Champion and 6-time National High Power Long Range Rifle Champion, David Tubb.
The F/TR-308 barrel is a match grade, button rifled, 416R Stainless Steel Palma contour, hand crafted by a team of specially trained former USMC 2112 Precision Rifle Technicians. The 1-in-10″ twist barrel is meticulously chambered in .308Win Match and finished with a recessed target crown. F/TR chambers are precisely machined to a straightness of less than
Holding these high tolerances delivers consistent sub ½ MOA performance with precision handloaded and factory match grade ammunition using projectiles in the 175gr to 210gr range. Customers can select barrel lengths of their preference out to 30 inches, with 26 inches being standard. Longer barrels require custom chassis configurations to manage the approximate 18.18 pound overall rifle weight limit.
APO’s F/TR-308 rifle is a standard right-hand configuration, with a left-hand model available. The competition rifle features a one-piece monolithic 20 MOA 12 o’clock top rail designed to “unitize” the platform and reduce accuracy robbing vibration. The SABER MRCS one-piece monolithic rail provides unparalleled platform rigidity, yielding consistent shot-to-shot accuracy. The SABER chassis also features an ergonomically shaped Quattro Alloy forend that helps to reduce mirage from the barrel and can be interchanged with a carbon fiber model specifically designed to manage heat.
Ashbury’s new interlocking ASX-A3 MOD-0 chassis further incorporates the lightweight Hand Tool Adjustable (HTA) shoulder stock with a fixed stock joint (folding hinges are optional) that have cheek piece height adjustment, length of pull spacers, and recoil pad drop adjustments all topped off with a premium Limbsaver recoil pad. Other shoulder stocks are available, but caution is recommended as weights can increase quickly with other options, keeping in mind the 18.18lb limit.
The F/TR-308 competition rifle package weighs in at approximately 17.6 pounds with an LRA F-Class Competition Bipod and Leupold VX-6 7-42x56mm day optic. There are also flush cup sling swivel sockets evenly distributed along the entire length of the rifle on both sides. The standard F/TR-308 is coated with rugged Cerakote ceramic finish in black, Olive Drab Green, Flat Dark Earth, Titanium or Tungsten Gray and Burnt Bronze. APO also offers customers a truly patriotic American Flag motif with an awesome stars and stripes color scheme. Other custom designs are available.
